Hey all, I'm new here. No, I don't own the book *cries a river* but I think reading the review that the lovely crevette did is enough for me. O.O

I had a devlish thought. I think someone who has a copy of the book, should find the address and send it to FOAMY( illwillpress.com if you don't know). I would personally LOVE to see a Foamy rant based on this book/author.

I'm evil, yes. But god it'd be funny.

And if no one knows who Foamy is, I demand you all go to www.illwillpress.com and watch some of Foamy's videos, under 'toons' I believe. Good stuff.

It seems that Night Travels of the Elven Vampire has finally been removed from Amazon.com. As such, I'd like us all to observe a moment of silence at the passing of our much-beloved elf/alien/vampire/swashbuckler/biker/strawberry-scented wolf.

Farewell, Alaric, and may you return from the Summerlands stronger, wiser, and with a copy of The New Oxford Guide to Writing at your side.

I just realized another fandom LaVerne has borrowed from.

Conflicted/cursed human/psi-vamp paranormal expert in love with a vampire?

Anita Blake.

If this is true, the NC-17 scenes were inevitable.

» LaVerne obviously in verb-impoverished region of country
Poor LaVerne is so hurt that we've all decided to gang up and review her book honestly. So, as a token of good will, I suggest we send her a gift basket filled with verbs and apostrophes.

Words arranged like a sentence but without verbs. Sentence fragments, reeking of strawberry elegance.
» Some of LaVerne's history....
...and it explains the "victim" thing she's got going on....

» Dawning realization:
I'm starting to think that LaVerne really doesn't understand why we are all picking on her.

It also occurs to me that if she wrote me into one of her future novelettes, retribution-style, she'd probably read enough of my LiveJournal to assume that I'm gay. You know what that means? It means that I get to sleep with Orlando Bloom. So HA.

Hey! My review's not on the Canadian page! :( This one was amusing, though:
4 out of 5 stars Unfair reviews of a good book, May 15, 2004

Reviewer: kelticdream13 from USA
First off, I am the author of said
book. I have a hate fanclub, that is doing its best to belittle my first book written two years ago and myself. One even told me to die. They have written anything that they possibly can, that is a slam against me, repeatly. None have actually bought this book,so are uninformed to its whole contents. My publishers' editor did check it, for those who wonder and edited and approved the covers. I wrote fanfic, and a certain small group of women with a gang mentality decided they didn't like it. Found out I wrote a book, and came after that.Easier to get to me, than other fanfic writers, since I am more in the public eye. So I ask readers to judge it according to your own views.... (...)
Nice that she's modest, that she's blaming somebody else for her image theft and she's so willing to assume gender. crevette, wasn't it a male LiveJournalist who purchased it for you, or am I misremembering?

I also notice she cops to it being fanfic NOW, despite the fact that it doesn't say that anywhere else, does it? She's plugging it like serious writing... well, fanfic can be 'serious writing' too, but it's a different shade.

Hey, Tampa Alphas, let's feed her to Ivan!
» One good thing...
I'd like to note that we have officially made LaVerne Ross remove her book from sale on Amazon.com. According to her it's because she's unhappy with the "unedited" version and a newer, edited version will be out in the next year. She apparently doesn't want anyone else to read her 'novelette' in this form.

And she's very sad at the loss of 25 dollars. HA!

Although returning to her page, now ALL her reviews have disappeared. Strange....

We did good folks!
